How to Pack for a Move in Dubai: A Room-by-Room Checklist

Packing is where most moving-day problems begin — and where almost all of them can be prevented. After more than 5,000 moves across Dubai and the UAE, our crews see the same mistakes again and again: packing started too late, the wrong materials, and boxes with no labels. This checklist fixes all three.

Start 10–14 days before moving day

Begin with the rooms you use least. A comfortable order for most Dubai homes:

Use materials that survive UAE heat

Summer moves in the UAE routinely happen at 40°C+. Cheap tape lets go in a hot truck, and thin boxes soften with humidity. Use proper double-walled cartons, quality packing tape, and bubble wrap for anything fragile. Never wrap furniture in plastic film alone for a long hot move — breathable furniture blankets protect wood finishes far better. (If you book our packing service, all materials are included.)

Label like a professional

What to leave to professional packers

Some items cause the majority of moving damage when self-packed: TVs and monitors, glass tabletops, mirrors and framed art, marble, chandeliers, and appliances that need disconnection. Professional crews carry purpose-made cartons and padding for exactly these — it's usually cheaper than replacing one broken TV.

The night before the move
